Stewarding the Prophetic with Integrity

At The Wild Branch Church, we believe in the prophetic ministry as a vital function of the Body of Christ, bringing encouragement, correction, and divine strategy to align believers with God’s will. However, we also recognize the weight of prophetic words and the responsibility that comes with them.

Our Commitment to Prophetic Stewardship

1.Not Every Word Is “Thus Says the Lord” – While we honor the gift of prophecy, not every word spoken in counsel, teaching, or encouragement is a direct prophetic directive from God. We encourage believers to test all things (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21) and seek confirmation from the Lord.

2.Personal Prophecies Should Be Recorded – We encourage individuals receiving personal prophecy to record the word whenever possible. This ensures that the prophecy can be weighed by others, revisited for accuracy, and safeguarded against misinterpretation or manipulation. A recorded word provides a clear account of what was actually spoken, protecting both the giver and the receiver.

3.Accountability in Prophetic Ministry – All prophetic words should be weighed against Scripture, godly wisdom, and discernment. We believe in responsible prophetic oversight, ensuring that prophecy edifies, exhorts, and aligns with God’s character (1 Corinthians 14:3).

4.Personal Responsibility in Hearing God – While prophetic words can bring insight, each believer is responsible for seeking the Lord personally and not relying solely on prophecy for direction (John 10:27).

5.Correction and Humility in Prophecy – We acknowledge that prophets see in part and know in part (1 Corinthians 13:9). When prophetic words are given, we remain open to correction, refinement, and accountability, ensuring that prophecy builds up rather than misleads.

A Culture of Honor and Discernment

Our goal is to cultivate an environment where believers can receive and grow in prophetic gifting, while maintaining wisdom, discernment, and biblical order. Our desire is to see prophecy stewarded well, bringing clarity, not confusion; alignment, not assumption.
